Carry On!
Dear friend,
When you find yourself overwhelmed by a tempest of trials and difficulties, it is quite natural to begin to think that you are a pioneer object of that stormy rage; but do not marvel anymore for even our Lord Jesus had been in the midst of a heavily troubled sea.
In His case, the passengers felt the shock of the wind on their way to the other side of Gergesenes so much so that the right-hand followers of Christ (the disciples) now, in a moment of test, lost faith and memory of their Master’s teachings and beatitudes, and the authority He had manifested over situations before.
They forgot it was GOD-the-Son on board and not Caesar, and that plunged them deep into fear; while the Lord was only calmly asleep on the ship.
You and I are newbies in the school of test–as myriads of saints, scholars, society’s greats and all classes of successful men and women gone by have been through our cases with specifics to prove the likeness between ours and theirs–yet possess challenging stories of triumph.
We flag their feats, celebrate their victories, eulogize their memories, and engrave their names on symbols of remembrance, but speak little of their days in hardship, labours and solitude. It is because we soon forget that the toughness of times itself is critical to our celebration tomorrow. It shapes our focus and gives our stories good colour.
So, no matter what you and I go through in life, we should know assuredly there have been similar cases before us. We are merely students with the same old curriculum and would surely find such past victors in Scriptures.
One must, therefore, be encouraged to strive on.
“There is a scar behind the star,” we say. “Darkness precedes dawn,” we sing. “Fire refines gold,” we believe. Why then do we shriek or even succumb to the storm?
Rather than murmur, let us sing the sonorous psalms when our days go dreary and our hearts become weary. Our Lord cares, you know. His calm is not some act of recklessness, neither is His silence pitiless; but a planned preparation for our glory–for out of some of the most terrible days in history have come some great events that changed the world.
Yes, the horizon will get clearer 🌥️. There’s always a grey of dawn in sight–and the fact that we are alive to dream and fight again is a proof of that. But we must not rush into the morning by some deed of disobedience or error lest we miss the soothing shine of dusk’s moonlight 🌙.
So, child of God, I know how you feel; but hold still in prayers, integrity and faith, for the storm will soon be over and will be followed by a calm soother than words can tell.
Your best days yet are here with glad tidings again.
“When you cross deep rivers, I will be with you, and you won’t drown. When you walk through fire, you won’t be burned or scorched by the flames.” - Isaiah 43:2 (CEV)
PS: Come over to the Lord JESUS CHRIST today by surrendering to Him and embracing His risen Life, if you haven’t. Say a simple prayer in faith, and your peace would know no bounds.
All my love,
Ekene
